Inoue Toyohisa
BiographyBorn 1914 in Kyoto. Grad. 1933 Ritsumeikan University. Studied with Tokuriki Tomikichirö. Exhibited with Kyoto Sösaku-Hangakai in 1933, Kokugakai, and Nihon Hanga Kyökai in 1930s. Represented in the sösaku-hanga exhibitions in Paris in 1934 and U.S. in 1936. Exhibited with Kokugakai in 1937. Member of Nihon Hanga Kyökai from 1946. Solo exhibition in 1949 and at Grenchen in 1958. Still active in 1985. Subjects include still life, large flowers, Kyoto scenes, and prints of crudely cut Buddhist sculptures such as those by Enkü.
