BiographyLittle is known of the life of Furuyama Moromasa. His activity as a print designer lasted until 1772 based upon the "kabuki" identification of one of his prints. He was first a pupil of Moroshige and later a follower of Torii Kiyonobu I and Okumura Masanobu. Among his surviving prints are two fine "uki-e" (perspective prints) done in the style of Masanobu. The Michener Collection is represented by one design.
