DescriptionLacquered wood figure of Jizo. Dark with traces of gold. Seated figure, one foot on pedestal, the other pendent. Holds jewel in one hand, probably had staff in other. Round body nimbus with raised leaf and flower border over the top of which is imposed the openwork flame border; all within flat, round band. On many-tiered lotus pedestal.
