BiographyA Word About the Printer:
David B. Smith received his BFA in Fine Art Printmaking from the University of Hawaii in 1987 and his Higher Diploma in Fine Art from the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London, 1991. At the Slade, Smith was under the tutelage of master printer Stanley Jones called the father of modern British lithography and printer for such notable artists as Henry Moore, Braque, Giacometti, and Man Ray, as well as HRH Charles, Prince of Wales.

Smith, an artist himself, has printed for Hawaii artists John Young, Cora Yee, Daniel Van Zyle and Yvonne Cheng. His own work can be seen in the permanent collections of the Honolulu Academy of Arts, The Contemporary Museum, Honolulu, The Strang Print Room, University
College London, the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts and the Government of the Marshall Islands Collection. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the Honolulu Printmakers and Chairman of the ""From the Stone"" Benefit Print Project.
