Minori

Japanese
BiographyMinori practices the art of shironuri, which means "painted in white," a traditional style of makeup used by geisha and kabuki actors. While growing up in the country, Minori was influenced by the beauty present in nature. Her signature style is thus inspired by natural elements, such as the patterns on leaves, the shapes of flowers, and grooves in the bark of trees. Her fashion flair has become more than just a statement—she sees it as a way of life “I feel as if I am a blank canvas when I paint myself white. I wish to become a source of energy of the universe by expressing the truth of nature or some other phenomenon through the whiteness of my body.”
