DescriptionForeground: table, covered with blackish blue, striped cloth; having 2 brown vases of white tulips at left, one grey vase of pink and orchid flowers at right. Between is open book. Facing front, behind table, is young woman seated in green chair, wearing long yellow bob, gold heart necklace, salmon-rust, V-neck blouce with long sleeves verging into gray with ruffles at wrist. Right hand extends forward on book; left hand rests on table near body. Background: royal blue, with paint removed to form cross-hatching and leaf panel. Technique: Sketchy, with paint thinly applied and canvas untouched in seveal places. Frame: elaborate, antiqued.
