BiographyBorn March 5, 1917, in Wakayama Prefecture; now lives in Tokyo. Studied at the Kawabata Art School and, both before and after the war, in the oil-painting section of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. Military service in China for four years, reaching the rank of lieutenant. High-school teacher of arts and crafts. Interested in sports, particularly swimming, track, and baseball.
