DescriptionJurojin, one of the seven gods of luck, is depicted in a standing pose, with white hair and beard, wearing grey scholar’s robes and holding his two attributes - the sacred staff (shaku) and a blue handscroll on which is recorded the wisdom of the world; he is accompanied by a tortoise, another symbol of old age.
The high, bald brow and head of Jurojin are usually characteristic of Fukurokuju, another god of luck, and originally was thought to represent that subject.
