DescriptionDragon robe of orange warp-faced satin weave ground with one large five-toed dragon covering each surface front and back. Dragon is blue with supplementary weft gilt paper-wrapped thread floats for scales. Each dragon is surrounded by red and blue cloud motifs, and chases a gold, white, and blue flaming pearl which is surrounded by red and pink flames. At the lower edge is a narrow border of traditional water and rock pattern. Gold and black supplementary weft fret-patterned edging along diagonal closure as well as around neck and wrist openings; also a polychrome tapestry weave strip with dragon and Taoist motifs along closure. Five brass buttons along closure and at throat. Lined with pale green plain weave silk.On View
