DescriptionBlack-topped red ware beaker. Open pit fired clay with ash reduction. A very simple beaker form, hand-built, thin-walled; the cylinder very slightly flaring at lip and curving downwards in a long slope to flat base. The vessel was burnished and the ash reduction resulted in the blackened top.
