DescriptionPainting attributed to Joseph Zächenberger of Nymphenburg factory, Germany. A rather deep rounded dish with well defined foliated rim, grooved along the edge with ribs tapering over the flaring rim down the shaped cavetto to the base. The rim has a gold and blue border and gold flourishes, festoons, etc. emphasizing the relief design. In the wider panels are tulips, lavender rose, seed bearing blossoms, in the narrower panels corn flowers and an exceedingly finely depicted blue and purple butterfly. In the center field there are more lavender roses, tulips, corn flowers, carnations, morning glories and yellow and black butterflies. The style of the painting reflects a naturalist use of shading and other finely delineated details.
