Virtually nothing is known of the eclectic master. He was first a pupil of Ippitsusai Bunchô according to Lane (Images, p.210) but ccame to work in the style of Utamaro producing mainly ô-kubi-e portraits of beautiful women between 1800 and 1810.(HAL)
