Born in Tokyo. Studied ukiyo-e and Japanese-style painting. Cofounder of Ugökai with Kaburagi Kiyokata in 1901. Illustrator for novels and newspapers. Specialized in pictures of sumö wrestlers. Contributed to New Ukiyo-e Beauties, 1924.
