Kanö Shösen'in(1823-1879)

According to Laurance Roberts, A Dictionary of Japanese Artists (1976), Kanô Shôsen'in was a pupil of his father, Kanô Seisen'in Osanobu, succeeding him as ninth generation of the Kobikichô branch of the Kanô school. He took the name Shôsen'in after receiving the honorific title hôin. He was the teacher of Hashimoto Gahô and Kanô Hôgai.
