Ōta RyūichiJapanese, 1915 - 1994

Ōta Ryūichi (太田龍一, 1915–1994) was a Nihonga painter. He was born and raised in Aichi Prefecture. He later moved to Seto City瀬戸. He studied painting under Nishiyama Suishō (西山翠嶂, 1879–1958, see Entry 40) and Shimaya Shizen (嶋谷自然, 1904–1995). He displayed his paintings in the Nitten exhibitions and became a member 日展会友of the Nitten Association. He was particularly famous for his paintings of carp.
