Fudō RitsuzanJapanese, 1886 - 1975

Fudō Ritsuzan (不動 立山, 1886–1975) was a Nihonga painter. He was born in Hyōgo Prefecture. His personal name was (Sadakazu?) 定一. He studied under Nishiyama Suishō (see Entry No. 40). As one of Suishō’s followers, he assisted with the foundation of Suishō’s private school for painting in Kyoto, Shōkōsha 青甲社 (see Entry C2). He also submitted extremely detailed, realistic 写生的 landscape paintings to the Teiten (see Entry A3) and Shun-Bunten (see Entry A4) exhibitions. He died in 1975 at the age of 89.
