Okajima SeikoJapanese, 1828 - 1877

Okajima Seikō (岡島清曠, 1828–1877) was a painter of the Shijo school at the end of the Edo period and the Meiji era. His family name was Kanazawa金沢, his personal name was Shigan 士願, and his style name (azana) was Suchiku 素竹. He learned painting from Yokoyama Seiki 横山清暉and was particularly proficient in figurative works and bird-and-flower scenes.
