Asami KōjōJapanese, 1890 - 1974

Asami Kōjō (朝見香城, 1890–1974) was a Nihonga painter born in Hyogo Prefecture. He studied painting from Mori Getsujō (1887–1929) and Nishiyama Suishō (1879–1958, see Entry No. 40). Having settled in Nagoya, he began to exhibit in the state-sponsored, juried art exhibitions in 1915. In 1950, he received the Aichi Prefecture Culture Award.
