DescriptionOn mahogany pedestal-foot which in turn rests on square maple and mahogany base having 4 mahogany feet in section. Fifteen thin rope lines, 1/2 inch apart at bottom and 2 1/2 inches at top, radiate from just above pedestal foot to top of body. Body of maple, except for rope lines. Similar design around edges of circular foot of pedestal and square sides of base. Maple cover has 2 1/2 inch wide bottom section fitting onto body of urm, above which is a concave section with mahogany leaf motif separating the bottom of lid from domed top. Entire lid has radiating lines similar to those on body of urn. High knob of mahogany. Small brass plate holds ring for lifting lid; on one of the 15 sections formed by rope-lines on body there is an ornamental keyhole with key.On View
