DescriptionSeated under tree. On left, a tree with branch extending up and to right with fan-shaped leaves. Under this, Maitreya seated on stool, its sides slightly concave with deep vertical ridges and plain bands around middle. Left foot of figure on ground, right leg bent at knee, which rests on left knee. Left hand, palm up, rests on calf of right leg. Elbow of right arm rests on right knee, the closed hand touching the head, which in inclined to right. Wears a high unornamented crown, left (exposed) ear is long. Scarf reaching to ground on both sides is draped over arms and shoulders. Triangular-shaped collar on chest; closely clinging draperies extend from waist down. Mounted on wooden panel.
